EUCAnet is a joint initiative of ECSA-C (European Community Studies Association - Canada) and the European Studies Program at the University of Victoria in partnership with other Canadian Universities. It is partly funded by a grant from the European Commission (DG Relex). EUCAnet develops strategies and initiatives to improve European Union-Canada relations. The “Who's Who” directory of experts provides information on scholars in the field of European Studies (2005) and experts in Canada specialising on various topics related to Europe (2006), and seeks to link them across the country. Various other activities are designed to connect the academic world with media, business, community associations, and policy makers in Canada.
